Kippax Band at the Butlins Mineworkers Championships - 2012

Kippax Band is proud of its forward-thinking, energetic group of very talented musicians, all dedicated to the finest music making.

Kippax has a history in brass banding dating back to the early 1800's. Closely linked to the mining industry, the band had mining connections until as recently as the closure of the Selby Coalfield in the early 2000’s. It is still classed as a mineworkers band.
The Band is also closely connected to the local community who have, over the years, provided many players past and present. The band also provides its services to the community through parades, Church services and Council organised events.

Kippax Band is also delighted to own its own Social Club, which is based on the same site as the bandroom. The club caters for different social events including line dancing, and is a venue for parties, weddings, and christenings. On the second Sunday of each month either the Kippax Band or a guest band performs in the Club to capacity audiences.
