The Kippax Band's Youth Training Group is aimed at youngsters wishing to learn or develop brass playing skills. The Band view this as an important avenue in securing the long term future of Kippax Band as well as providing a further service to the local community.

The group has been developed by a sub-committee of the senior band and is facilitated by qualified and experienced members of the senior band. Paul Wilkinson, Bob Hick and Graham Orr bring many years of experience and knowledge to the group. The group are taught on both an individual and group basis and in mid 2009 gave there first concert in the band club to a rousing reception from parents and supporters alike.

Band Chairman Colin Moss states, "We hope that this initiative will help us find the future stars of Kippax Band, and help to secure the long term future of one of the oldest bands in the country. We place great importance in the value of youth development at Kippax and we already have two very promising young cornet players in the Band. We hope that through the Youth Training Group we will unearth new talent on all manner of different instruments for the future."
