Volcanic ash hinders Buxton preparation

Who would have thought that a volcano in Iceland could have such an effect! At one point last week we had four players stranded overseas with Anita (horn) and Nats (Cornet) in Jamaica, Graham (Baritone) in Turkey and Lee (Euph) in Paris, all with no immediate prospect of getting home.
Thankfully all are now back on home soil and took part in Sunday's rehearsal ahead of our next contest at Buxton on Sunday 2nd May. With a 'mixed' section of 1st and Championship section Band taking part, the own choice test piece that David has chosen is a demanding but enjoyable piece which the Band has not previously played on the contest stage.
If you fancy a day out on the bank holiday weekend to support the Band, the contest takes place at the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton town centre, with our section commencing at around 6:00pm
