A busy start to 2012 for Kippax

No sooner has the Christmas pudding been digested and the Band are straight into rehearsals for the forthcoming Mineworkers Championships in Skegness.
Our annual trip to Butlins is a great social occasion for the Band, but more importantly, provides an opportunity to test ourselves against some of the best 1st section bands in the country.
This year’s set test piece is ‘High Peak’ by Eric Ball. The band will be looking to build on our last contesting outing in November, when we were placed 4th with the same piece at Leicester.
Soprano Cornet player Peter Roberts is on adjudicating duty at Butlins so the band are grateful to be able to call upon a capable deputy in the shape of Andy Fake. Thanks Andy!
