The Percussion Section

We are pleased to welcome Catherine as our new lead percussionist. Catherine is a student at Greenhead Sixth-form College in Huddersfield and previously played tuned percussion with the Greenfield Band. In joining Kippax, she is hoping to further her experience on both kit and tuned percussion and has settled into the role very well.

Andy is yet another long serving member of The Kippax Band, although these days he tends to just come in for contests if asked nicely. Andy recently explained that he left the band some time ago but keeps forgetting to write his resignation letter and is now hanging around for his long service award! Andy is an excellent all-round percussionist, but it is often his skills on the glockenspiel and xylophone which are most invaluable to the band.

Bernice has been a member of The Kippax Band since 1990. Although she has now retired from a full-time playing position, she remains an excellent percussionist and is often drafted back in when needed for contests. Bernice's main commitment to the band is now as librarian, as well as sitting on the band and social club committees.
